As part of the new Coaching and Officiating Framework, there is a new role of Foundation Facilitator. This role is able to run and "sign off" the practical assessments for Foundation Lead Coach, Foundation Lead Umpire and when it is available Foundation Lead Technical Official. Currently there are 5 Hockey NSW Staff members with this qualification, which means that they are very limited in what they can deliver to Associations.
Hockey NSW are looking at working with Associations to upskill members to be a foundation facilitator. The Foundation Facilitator course costs $100 and consists of a theory and practical course. Hockey NSW is looking at providing each association with a $50 voucher to assist with the associations getting a member to complete this course so that each association can run their own Foundation Lead Coaching courses and Foundation Lead Umpire assessments.
The Foundation Lead Coaching Session is a 4 hr practical session. To assist with the financial costs of this course the Association will receive $25/ participant registered (the participant has to have registered and completed the online theory component prior to the practical assessment). The $25 is the delivery fee component of the course fee. The Association can then decide how to distribute the delivery fee. Associations would not be required to complete any online administration, that will all be looked after by Hockey NSW. Resources will be provided to assist each foundation facilitator to deliver the practical components.
